Vivek and Jasmin’s chance encounter seemed like something of divine intervention. It was through a birthday weekend in Chicago during Halloween in 2012. Vivek planned on surprising his friends by coming to Chicago and Jasmin had recently moved to Chicago for school. There was an instant connection as they both spent the weekend talking to each other and just finding comfort in each other‘s company and common California upbringing. Vivek and Jasmin could not stop smiling after that weekend! But alas Vivek’s destiny took him to New York but Jasmin and Vivek would continue to converse daily. This Is It Moment their friendship brought them even closer together and as fate would have it Jasmin would have an opportunity to join Vivek in New York, which she took full advantage of! It was here that their relationship blossomed from friendship to love.
The Proposal:
The challenge here was how to coordinate friends and family who were all in California while Vivek and Jasmin were working in New York… without Jasmin knowing. Vivek was able to coordinate with friends and family in California to do the proposal in Southern California overlooking the Los Angeles skyline. The day started with a gondola ride and ended with a proposal and celebration with their loved ones.

Wedding planning for Vivek and Jasmin was never going to be easy. Working as frontline physicians in New York but raised in California, the plan was always to have a 300 person July wedding in Southern California; however, this quickly became an unrealistic option. Despite these challenges Vivek and Jasmin were determined to celebrate their love in a safe manner. Through a lot of hard work and dedication they took this opportunity in stride, planning a luxurious and intimate 50 person ceremony at their utmost favorite location to visit – The Resort at Pelican Hill. With such a quick turn around of their new wedding date and location; they both decided upgrade the design, decor, and each guests’ experience so every person would truly feel special and cared for. They personalized everything from the seating, food, and even providing custom PPE, while streaming the event for the rest of their family and friends to watch.
Masks and personal hand sanitizers were distributed to all the guests. Everyone was seated in a socially distanced manner for the ceremony. All events were held outdoors. During a time of so much uncertainty and instability, Vivek and Jasmin wanted to make sure to celebrate the good things in 2020 as well. To them, nothing is more important, pure, and genuine than true love.
