Tuscany, Italy is one of the most scenic places on the planet. When we saw the photos of HARMEET & JAS’ engagement by photographer Zohaib Ali we had to share them with you. The idea that Zohaib had behind the engagement shoot was to create images that would be both timeless and classic but also show the true beauty of this stunning Tuscan landscape.

Comfort first- The number one rule for planning bridal underwear is comfort. Your undergarments should be comfortable, supportive, and flattering. Breathable, moisture wicking fabrics are always a great idea since you will likely be sweating as you dance the night away!.
The bra- If you are able to wear a regular bra under your outfit, you want to first make sure it is the right size. In general, most women wear the wrong size bra. The right fit will be more supportive and flattering. Keep in mind that most brides will lose weight before the wedding so if you are planning to get fitted at a boutique, go a month or two before your wedding to accommodate for the weight loss. Next, you want a bra with a wide, smooth, no show band and fuller coverage cup. This will provide a smoothing effect and prevent skin from bulging in unflattering places. I always recommend a nude colored bra so that it is as discreet as possible. If you are wearing a strapless bra, I recommend testing it beforehand. Wear it to a party or a night out to make sure it wont be slipping down on your wedding day. For outfits that require built in cups, make sure you devote time to discussing what you’re comfortable with with the tailor making your outfit. Depending where you shop, some cups are very padded, some have a more pointy contour, some are kind of itchy on the inside! I always like to be shown an example of how the cups will be before they are sewn into my garment.
The panties- With most bridal outfits panty lines will not be an issue, but it is still something to be taken into account when selecting the underwear that you will wear with each outfit. If you want a smoothing effect for your stomach and love handles, consider a high waist, body shaping panty. These tend to be more comfortable and less extensive than full shape wear.
Shape wear- If you do want to wear shape wear under your outfit, make sure you try it beforehand! Some shape wear can be too tight or roll up and bunch in certain areas. Also if certain parts of your outfit are sheer make sure you shape wear will not show.
Lingerie- The wedding night! This is where brides can have fun with shopping for lingerie. Whatever you select, remember to choose something that you feel confident and sexy in!

Want to perfect bridal lips? Beauty by Lishma offers her advice for the perfect pout.
Makeup is a form of art that can enhance one’s beautiful face. Eyes and Lips are the two main features that stand out when enhanced with makeup.
You can create many shapes with lips. However, my favorite is to keep the natural shape but only tweak it enough to make them look symmetrical. I always start off with a lip conditioner and a lip primer. Up next is the lip liner to outline and cover up the entire lip. Finally, I apply the lip stain on top.
Applying gloss can provide a nice shiny finish, however, I personally find it too sticky especially with loose hair. Therefore, I prefer a matte finish over a glossy finish. But, you can’t go wrong with either choice.
Kavi and I knew each other since we were kids as my aunt was married to his uncle butwere nothing more than distant relatives. He left for London with his sister for higher studies and several years later, destiny brought us back together when we were both attending my aunt’s alms giving in Matara, Sri Lanka. We’ve been inseparable ever since. After 5 years of dating he finally popped the question right beforehe took me out on our anniversary dinner. It was private and intimate and of course I said yes!
When trying to describe this special day, I can’t seem to find a better word than “perfect,” a day I’ve pictured forever became a reality and I married the man of my dreams! Everything we did, we tried to stick to a Grecian/Tuscan theme. Hence the color palate had multiple shades of olive green. Besides the elements of green, we wanted everything else to be black and white with a touch of gold to make the setting classic and timeless. Kavi and I thought long and hard about where we wanted our big day to take place. We selected the historic Galle Face Hotel, which would complement our theme with its exquisite European inspired architecture.
It’s not always a bridal outfit is designed by the Groom’s sister. I’m pretty sure our relationship would have added extra pressure in designing my bridal saree and reception dress as she wanted them to be the best ever she has done. While others would have crumbled under this kind of pressure, she thrived in it. She’s quite possibly the best bridal designer in Colombo. She had big plans for my outfits as we started by shoppingin the streets of Mumbai, months before the big day. It was amazing to see how she came up with the design on the spot. For her to complete the design, a custom order had to be placed with the thread work she drew on a piece of paper in less than five minutes which stunned everyone in the shop. I gave her complete freedom enabling to do her magic. The saree was designed to be a traditional drape with a twist of sophistication. It was simple yet elegant. Seven bridesmaid and one flower girl outfit, all complemented my bridal seamlessly.
The material for the reception dress was also custom made from the scratch inspired by her drawings. I do not think words can describe the unique elegance and glamour in that dress. From start to end everything was stress free, as I was only needed for the fittings. Both outfits exceeded all my expectations!
We had an amazing set of vendors who truly love what they do and are great at it. MUA -Viran Jose Peter. He is not only my go to MUA but a really close friend too. He is hands down the best makeup artist in Colombo. So who else would I trust more with my makeup? He made me look effortless. HSA -Shane Perera. He is also a close friend and a very talented hair dresser with an eye for tiniest details. Photography -AMARANTE by Anu & Adrian Dharmaratne. We’ve both been long-time admirers of AMARANTE’s work, so there was no question of who would capture our big day. It could only be them! Not only do they capture all the moments most important to couples, but moments that are natural, raw and unique! Videography -The Wedding Diary by Ruwin Fernando. We chose him as there was something so romantic and rich about the way he captured all of his weddings, and that’s how we wanted to remember our wedding. After going through many sample videos, we found something unique about his work which is hard to explain. Floristry -PORU Weddings. We’ve been closely following their work for some timeand we’ve been fascinated every time! Galle Face grand ballroom is a uniquely beautiful space and they wanted to maintain the classical elegance while incorporating the most beautiful white rose floral centerpieces with lots and lots of candles to complement our theme. PORU had to make stage platform and the most beautiful backdrop from the scratch to match our theme. We knew everything was in safe hands and PORU delivered! The ambience they created was intimate, classic and timeless. The DOCTORby Lanthra Perera tore the ballroom roof off with a night of music which had everyone out of their seats the entire time. Event Planner -Eventz & Trendz. Uzi & Iyanthie were no strangers to us as we have worked together at our sister’s wedding. However, during our wedding, we really got to know about why they’re sought after by many. They are committed, talented and super friendly. Iyanthie has a keen eye for detail which was useful for us in making many decisions. Uzman kept us sane throughout the wedding planning and was behind us every step of the way during the ceremony and reception. Groom’s attire -Fouzul Hameed. A big shout outto Fouzul for personally looking into the design, material selection & fittings. Stationary -Soleil. A close family friend of ours who’s without a doubt best in the business with bundles of creativity.
Everything about our wedding day could not have been more magical. When Kavi and I saw each other just before the ceremony, it was as if we froze in time. I was so nervous about Kavi seeing me as a bride, so being able to see the happiness on his face when he saw me was something I can not put in words. First dance as husband and wife surrounded by all of our loved ones will be a moment that we will relive for the rest of our lives. Our first dance was ‘You’re Just Too Good to be True’ by Franki Valli, a timeless classic with an upbeat ending.

We love seeing industry leaders planning for their own family. One of the wedding industries top wedding planners, Nutan Shah, helped her daughter have the wedding of her dreams below are a few words from Nutan about her daughters wedding day.
“It is hard to put into words the feeling when your own daughter finds her price charming and embarks her very own journey. Their long distance relationship from LA to Michigan finally came to a halt as they got married under a dreamy ceremony and reception at the St. Regis Monarch Beach. I wanted to do something different from this event, so we have different themes for each event and utilized five different locations throughout the day.
We started with an early afternoon hindu wedding at the grand lawn, an outdoor reception and finally an indoor club party. It was flawless and I owe many thanks for the fantastic creative partners that came together to make this event extra special.” – Nutan Shah
Sabina & Victor’s magical week-long wedding celebration would be the very definition of a fairytale wedding, with events across New York in culmination of their amazing fourteen year romance. To kick-off their incredible wedding, Victor’s family hosted an outdoor cocktail party both glamorous and fun, complete with a spectacular night time fireworks show. The wedding weekend began with a sangeet at Westbury Manor, for an energetic evening of performances capped off by an exciting dance party.
The couple’s traditional Hindu wedding was a colorful outdoor affair on the lush gardens of the opulent Hempstead House, one of four sprawling mansions on the grounds of the Guggenheim Estate. Overlooking the tranquil waters of Hempstead Bay, the 50,000 square-foot Tudor style castle of granite and limestone was the perfect backdrop for Sabina & Victor’s grand South Asian wedding.
The heart of New York City played host to the final evening of celebration, as Sabina & Victor were joined by guests for an evening of dinner, speeches, and dancing in the Grand Ballroom of The Plaza Hotel, one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks towering over Central Park. We’re honored to have been part of such an amazing celebration and congratulate their newly joined family on hosting such an incredible event!

Raj Tents are the leaders in themed luxury tenting and decor. We wanted to learn more about their business and what makes them at the top of their game.
Maurice, originally from Ireland and Dominic, from England started Raj Tents in 2004 seeing that despite plenty of high end tented events in California, tenting was usually limited to the strictly functional. Rather than seeing tents as an opportunity to enhance the wedding décor, people treated them more as a sad necessity. Maurice and Dominic both wanted to turn that around and make weddings more beautiful and grand with beautiful decadent tents.
Raj Tents has a strong connection with India through Dominic, who lived there as a child. Dominic visits India every year. While in India Dominic looks after Raj Tent’s inventory production and purchasing. They are constantly innovating and bringing in new items especially for their Indian wedding clients. Their pet gripe is that they have so many great ideas on the drawing board that end up taking far longer to realize than they think they should.
Raj Tents’ main office is in Los Angeles, with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Hawaii. Raj Tents offers a nationwide rental installation service and are available for destination weddings outside the US too. Raj Tents love creating fabulous tented wedding settings in dramatic, exotic locations.
