an ode to a love that’s danced through the years

Rishi and Anisha found each other on June 17, 2013, and that chance meeting planted the seeds for a future together, leading them to tie the knot on the same day a decade later.  It all started in a pretty unexpected way. Anisha was already friends with Rishi’s cousin, and Rishi was the mystery guy who occasionally showed up. That is, until a message from him popped up on my Facebook. Cheesy? Absolutely. But it was the start of countless messages and shared day dreams.

When Anisha decided to go to UC Riverside, Anisha had no clue Rishi would end up there too, just a year later. College life was where we really clicked, taking on everything from study sessions to late-night dinner dates.  After we got our diplomas, our careers took us to different places—Anisha went on to law school in San Diego, and Rishi started medical school in Las Vegas. Despite the distance, they were all im.

Rishi crafted a memorable proposal in Apple Valley, his hometown. At the temple where he grew up, with their dogs Buddy and Kali by their side, Rishi asked Anisha to join him on the next leg of our journey. The families watched with joy-filled eyes as Anisha said ‘YES,’ and they celebrated afterward with an intimate dinner at home, lovingly prepared by a private chef.

The wedding events commenced with a beautiful Mehndi ceremony at Anisha’s home, embracing a boho theme that brought a relaxed yet chic vibe to the start of the celebrations. Surrounded by close friends and family, they delighted in the artistry of traditional henna designs amidst an ambiance of laid-back elegance, perfectly setting the tone for the festivities ahead.  The traditional indian wedding at the gorgeous Terranea Resort was a true celebration of our story. From the electric Moroccan Sangeet in Buena Park to the sunny Haldi ceremony at Rishi’s house in Newport Beach, each event was a chapter of their lives.  The couples precious dog Kali wasn’t just a guest; she was part of the crew, decked out in Indian outfits that matched the day’s vibe. A live painter captured the perfect moment of our wedding, while DJ Jazzy B or 3D Sounds lit up our reception with his beats.  This was more than a wedding—it was an ode to a love that’s danced through the years, unphased by life’s turns.
