Shiv and I got engaged while we were in Medical School, so our wedding timeline was pretty tight. Shiv’s cousin had a beautiful save the date video filmed in Varanasi in India, and we were lamenting the fact that we didn’t have more time to go to India together before the wedding to create something similar. While meeting with vendors, we crossed paths with a talented videographer, Eugene Bussey. We had never seen someone do a “Save the Date” video for a US-based desi wedding, but Eugene rose to the occasion! He agreed to meet us in Asheville no more than two weeks later at the Biltmore Estate, which is close by to where I attended medical school. We had a blast styling a royal style shoot against the backdrop of the Vanderbilts mansion, right as the sun was setting over the blue ridge mountains. We enjoyed wine tasting in the Biltmore’s winery and a nice dinner on the grounds at Cedric’s Tavern after the shoot, making for the perfect, romantic celebration of our engagement.
