Intimate at Home Wedding

Isha Asija and Rishal Bhakta dreamed of and started planning a destination wedding in Palm Springs a year out before their actual wedding date in late 2020.  The unexpected global pandemic hit shortly after and brought planning to a screeching halt. After much contemplation and compromise, they both opted not to postpone or cancel but to simply recreate their vision in the backyard of Isha’s parents’ home instead. Their week long wedding was comprised of nine events.  With an intimate guest count of only 25 family members (plus their global families via Zoom) it was just perfect for them to enjoy and cherish all the special moments of each day.

Their wedding day started in the morning with Isha getting ready at home with her parents and siblings. The staircase inside her home was decorated with fresh florals and greenery in colors of orange and rusty reds. A truly spectacular way for Isha to make her grand entrance. In the backyard of their family home is where they set up their mandap. A floral chandelier hung above their heads as they said their I Dos.

For their reception they quickly transformed their ceremony area in the back yard to an outdoor reception. An LED wall with multiple changing patterns was the backdrop for their reception. Each place setting was adorned with a linen napkin wrapped in a rust orange silk ribbon and a custom geode with every guests name written on it in beautifully hand painted calligraphy. When the sun set that night multiple strings of lights were hung above the outdoor reception tables creating a magical wonderland for their guests.
