The Waldorf Astoria, known to be one of the most prestigious landmark venues in all of New York City, has hosted its fair share of royal dignitaries, Presidents, and exclusive events. With it’s breathtaking views of Park Avenue, gold embellished fixtures and nostalgic architecture, it was the perfect atmosphere for Ansu and Karan to start their journey as husband and wife.
With just about six months to plan this elaborate affair, this one of a kind couple had their hearts set out to make this event a memorable one. With their kick off Sangeet party taking place at Cipriani Wall Street, hues of ombre purple cabanas filled the room with ambient lighting. The vast array of international food cuisine stations gave guests the first glimpse of how hospitable this family was. With hundreds of candles giving way to a warm and intimate vibe, guests danced the night away.
On the main wedding day, guests walked into the Waldorf Astoria where they were greeted with refreshments. The baraat came down Park Avenue with the groom’s parents and nieces in a horse and carriage buggy, followed by the groom in a vintage Shelby Cobra classic car. In many cases, the city of New York only allows one block for a baraat, but with our Premini Events connections, we were able to get three plus permission for a drone!
From the baraat, the wedding ceremony took place followed by cocktails and a dinner reception. The impeccable timing of the event, led to guests being able to enjoy and feel relaxed. As guests thoroughly enjoyed the reception, the father of the groom gave us the green light to extend the party by an hour! The after party took the night to another level with fun foods and a high profile radio DJ.
With just over six months to plan this spectacular affair, we helped source the best vendors, created a one of a kind lighting atmosphere that shocked guests, and most of all, fell in love with a couple who had no problem showing their admiration for each other. It’s no surprise that they actually had ten encounters with each other before even having a physical conversation and subsuequently chose May 10th as their wedding date. The definition of the perfect 10! We absolutely loved working with Ansu and Karan on their planning journey.
