Maurice, originally from Ireland and Dominic, from England started Raj Tents in 2004 seeing that despite plenty of high end tented events in California, tenting was usually limited to the strictly functional. Rather than seeing tents as an opportunity to enhance the wedding décor, people treated them more as a sad necessity. Maurice and Dominic both wanted to turn that around and make weddings more beautiful and grand with beautiful decadent tents.
Raj Tents has a strong connection with India through Dominic, who lived there as a child. Dominic visits India every year. While in India Dominic looks after Raj Tent’s inventory production and purchasing. They are constantly innovating and bringing in new items especially for their Indian wedding clients. Their pet gripe is that they have so many great ideas on the drawing board that end up taking far longer to realize than they think they should.
Raj Tents’ main office is in Los Angeles, with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Hawaii. Raj Tents offers a nationwide rental installation service and are available for destination weddings outside the US too. Raj Tents love creating fabulous tented wedding settings in dramatic, exotic locations.
