Destination Cancun
Shradha and Sameer’s wedding was a weekend of dance, music, food, and fun! The couple always wanted to create a memorable weekend that their guests would enjoy, ensuring that there was an experiential part of each event that would be fun for their guests of all ages. From the moment of their guests’ arrival, with the help of Shaadi Destinations, they had a buffet of Indian snacks at the private check-in where they were welcomed by the family with welcome bags filled with useful and custom gifts for each guest to use throughout the weekend. Entertainment and food were two very major themes that were articulated throughout the wedding. Choreographed (and even un-choreographed) flash mobs and dances by the bride, groom, and all their friends and family were prevalent at each event. The Welcome night had custom beer pong tables and corn hole games set up for guests to play, and even had a massive two-table flip cup tournament to end the night! The Sangeet had a cigar roller and customized specialty cocktails like Jaljeera Martinis and Gulab Shots, which the bride and groom provided ingredients and recipes to the amazing mixologists at the hotel to create! The food was a combination of Indian food with Chef Gulab Singh of Taste of India in Cancun and American and Mexican food through the Chefs at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. The welcome night featured a live taco station with fresh tortilla and a taco bar, fresh live churros, and various other mexican specialty items! The reception was a traditional Indian dinner from Taste of India that gave the guests a traditional and authentic meal to celebrate the reception.
The ceremony itself was a magical setting on a clear platform in the bright blue waters of Riviera Maya with an elegant and rustic mandap adorned with drapes of ivory, bells hanging, and floral and greenery. The real brass bells on the mandap were hand-selected pieces from India that were created in Mumbai, brought to Texas, and then flown to Mexico to be hung on their mandap by their florist and decor team Tulipania and Zuniga, just as Shradha and Sameer’s vision entailed.
The bride, Shradha, wore a beautiful lehenga she designed herself (she is the designer and owner of a sustainable clothing brand called Revery) and the groom, Sameer, complemented her perfectly in an ivory sherwani and wore a turban that was tied by Shradha on the morning of the wedding during their first look!
The reception was a full on party with a 360 degree bar at the entrance of the ballroom, starlit walls, a 3 hour dance floor, and test tube shots being passed out for the guests to cheers! Throughout the weekend, their friends and family were able to enjoy the activities on site with pool parties, a scheduled holi party on the beach after their pithi, club Heaven to afterparty, and so much more!
The wedding of Shradha and Sameer was an incredible experience– it was a memorable wedding that nobody will forget due to the hospitality, love, and experience given to the guests that attended. The images really do speak for themselves– Andre Gouin captured the essence of the perfection of the weekend, that we will all get to cherish now for years and years to come!
